"Not a day goes by without me seeing something that moves and uplifts me - something that makes my soul dance. It may be as universal as a blazing sunset or as private as the color of a person's eyes; as colorful as a flower garden or as subdued as the night sky. My intention as a painter, is to capture this thing, this beauty, and to bring it to attention. It is my way of saying "thank you God." We live in a beautiful world."

I was born in Milwaukee and began to paint after my fifth (and youngest) daughter was born. I believe that my creativity was awakened by all the feminine energy in my life. It was something of a shock to me to discover I could do this – perhaps the ability was always present but never tapped into. I believe this is probably true (in similar ways) for most people.

So I began to paint. I was and am inspired by everything. I love to paint outdoors, (the light and the color!) I also found an ability to capture likenesses and emotions, both real and imagined. I love to paint in oil because of its fluidity and intensity of color, often mixing my colors directly on canvas. I am drawn to vibrant color in all of my subject matter.
